Starting school!

Well, my baby is in kindergarten now. it's very...bittersweet...she is my first baby, so I am very proud of her, but it's scary for me too, with it being my first experience with school.

And it's sad, because she is my last baby...

Mostly, she loves it! But..sometimes,the kids make fun of her, and she thinks the teacher ignores it...and I didn't go to school, so I have no idea how to deal with it. I wasn't around other kids a lot,and when there were problems, (and there often were) my parents totally handled it wrong...so I know what NOT to do, but what TO do???

First parent/teacher conference is coming up and I am scared...my parents always told me teachers didn't like parents, and were the enemy, and school kids were mean...and I'm told that isn't true, but I worry.

Rachel does get to ride the bus home, and LOVES it so that is great. getting her to school continues to be a challenge. Bussing to school isn't an option. So, I m praying about that.

Randomness

My daughter, Rachel is now registered for dance camp this summer. Should be fun. Will give me some me time that week, and should be tons of fun for her. Also, she get to try out tap, jazz, and I tink modern, so that will be nice. Haven't decided what day or class to register her for. I'm leaning towards Saturday mornings, and a jazz/tap/ballet combo class.

this week we are gong to "the lake" with a good friend, and staying overnight at her cabin. I can't wait.

My daughter's 5 birthday party was Sunday. I started the day having coffee and Baileys with her dad, and my 2 best friends. It was an interesting party. Lots of spiriutal stuff went on, and then throw in plain old fashioned drama , and well, it was quite the party. I was having a VERY rough day physically, so that made it worse. I had to leave most of the work to others, and I could barely walk. And one friend who was at the party, is now a former friend partly due to behaviour at the party.

Rachel got nearly $300 for her birthday, so I've strated getting her stuff for school. She has 2 pairs of new shoes, a thermos, a water bottle...got her a toy guitar and a junior scrabble as well, and she got her ears peirced, so it wasn't all school stuff. Oh yeah, got her new ballet slippers, (last years are too small) and dance camp is from her b-day money.

Still need to get her a backpack for school. And a lunch box. I'm not ready for my baby to start school. She will be going to e of hte best school in town, so that is good. I wish teh school was a little further away, though. The nshe coudl bus to school. I'm concerned about getting her to school on days when I'm having trouble walking.

Changes

Well, I'm now a sahm again, and LOVING it. Wish it could last forever....

I decided mid January it was time to quit my job, and it is one of the best decisions I've made. My house is now livabley clean, dn I've settling into a routine for cleaning etc. It's going well.

I've created a Home Mangement Binder, and that has been so helpful!

Rachel is getting cuter every day,I swear. the other day, I bought a new canister for my kitchen. She found the paper it was wrapped in and decided we shoud put foot prints on it. So we did that. Did you know poster paint stains skin? yeah, so now I have blue feet. Rachel's feet are clean again, she had a long soak in the tub and it cam off. I don't have time for that.

Last night she set up a salon in the kitchen. She had me soak my feet in a pan of water while she did my nails...then she washed my feet, and painted my toenails, then put some of her makeup on me. Today was her turn. So she got a mani/pedi, and her make done. She loved it. She comes up with some really creative ideas.

It's only 6 months til she starts kindergarten. The time just goes too fast.

Well, got a late start today, but got the kitchen cleaned up, had coffee, and dressed & makeup even though "m not ging anywhere. Now what for dinner??? Hmm, would salmon work in tuna helper? I don't have tuna. maybe I'll make hearty scrambled eggs. Haven't had that for while. I know, it's not breakfast.

Oh, I know-I'll make salmon loaf!! The leftovers make awesome sandwiches, too.

Guess I should go start on that. No salad fixings, unfortunately, but I could cook some carrots, or frozen peas, or both, I guess.
